The 2006 nobel prize in physics was awarded to John Mather and George Smoot for their work on the COBE satellite project. COBE provided the first direct evidence for the Big Bang Theory. In 1986, It was my privelege to be assigned to supervise the testing and write the report on the Bi-directional Reflectance Distribution Function (BRDF) for the primary mirror aboard the DIRBE experiment. In 2007, I was awarded a certificate of appreciation from NASA for my work on the project. |
